Peer Review Process
Peer Review Process
The International Journal of Current Educational Studies (IJCES) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of scholarly integrity and academic rigor. Our double-blind peer review process ensures that published research meets the highest criteria for quality, originality, and relevance.
1. Submission and Originality
All manuscripts submitted to IJCES must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere at the time of submission. Authors are responsible for ensuring the exclusivity of their work and must adhere to the journal’s ethical and academic integrity guidelines.
2. Initial Assessment (≈ 1 Week)
Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes a preliminary assessment by the Editor-in-Chief or a designated Section Editor. This step evaluates:
- The manuscript’s alignment with the journal’s scope
- Its adherence to academic and ethical standards
- Overall clarity, coherence, and quality
Only manuscripts meeting these criteria proceed to the peer review stage.
3. Reviewer Selection and Double-Blind Peer Review (≈ 3 Months)
Manuscripts that pass the initial assessment are sent to at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant subject area. Reviewers are carefully selected based on their:
- Subject-matter expertise
- Publication record in the field
- Previous experience as a reviewer
IJCES follows a double-blind peer review system, where both reviewers and authors remain anonymous to each other. This ensures an unbiased and objective evaluation based solely on the research’s quality and contribution to the field.
4. Feedback and Collaborative Refinement
At IJCES, the peer review process is not only an evaluation but also a collaborative effort. Reviewers provide detailed feedback to help authors strengthen their work, ensuring that published research contributes meaningfully to the field of education and educational research.
Authors may be asked to submit a revised version of their manuscript based on reviewer comments. This iterative process enhances the clarity, depth, and impact of the research.
5. Decision Process
Once the review process is complete, reviewer feedback is carefully analyzed by the editorial team. The final decision on the manuscript falls into one of the following categories:
✅ Accept – The manuscript is approved for publication with no or minor revisions.
✍ Revise and Resubmit – Authors are invited to address reviewer comments and submit a revised version.
❌ Reject – The manuscript does not meet the journal’s criteria for publication.
While reviewer recommendations are highly valued, the final decision rests with the editorial team, ensuring a comprehensive and balanced evaluation.
6. Ethical Standards
IJCES upholds the highest ethical standards in research publication. Authors must ensure that their work complies with the journal’s ethical guidelines, particularly in studies involving human or animal subjects. Ethical approvals and participant consents must be secured and documented where applicable.
7. Review Duration
The peer review timeline may vary depending on multiple factors, including reviewer availability and the complexity of the research. However, IJCES aims to complete the review process within the following timeframes:
- Initial editorial review: Approximately 1 week
- Double-blind peer review: Approximately 3 months
Authors will receive timely updates on the status of their submissions.
8. Appeals
We recognize the effort and dedication involved in research publication. If authors disagree with a decision, they have the right to appeal. Appeals must be well-reasoned and supported by additional information or arguments. The editorial team carefully reviews appeals, and decisions may be reconsidered when justified.
9. Formatting and Final Publication
Authors do not need to use a specific template during the submission and review process. However, for accepted manuscripts, authors may format their papers using the journal’s official publication template before final submission.
10. Commitment to Scholarly Excellence
IJCES is dedicated to fostering a transparent, rigorous, and constructive review process. We encourage authors to engage proactively in this collaborative journey, ensuring the best possible outcomes for their scholarly contributions.
